Chamod Fernando of Isipathana is the Ruggerite of 2017 Singer-the Sunday Times Schoolboy Ruggerite of the Year 2017 View(s): View(s):Thomian Aabid Cader the Most Popular Hundreds of school rugby players were recognised last Thursday for their untiring efforts during the concluded school rugby season which resulted in taking their respective teams to the helm at the annual awards ceremony of the Singer Schools Rugby League Championship. The event took place at the Bishops’ College Auditorium along with the inaugural Singer-Sunday Times Schoolboy Ruggerite of the Year 2017, where five top awards were presented. The cynosure of the evening was undoubtedly on the top three awards, where the Singer-Sunday Times Schoolboy Ruggerite of the Year 2017, which was claimed by the dynamics No.8 of Isipathana College, Chamod Fernando. In addition Aabid Cader and his team S. Thomas’ College were awarded as the Singer-the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy Ruggerite of the Year 2017 and the Most Popular Rugby Team of Year 2017 respectively. Royal College officially received their much awaited Singer League Championship trophy along with certificates and medals while runners-up Isipathana College were presented with their silverware.
