ISLAMABAD, Jul 17 (APP):Chairman Senate, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Wednesday urged the nation to unite and work for the development and prosperity of Pakistan. In his message on the occasion of Ashura Day, the chairman senate said, “Ashura day is very important in Islamic history and remind us how Imam Hussain (RA) and his devoted companions rendered supreme sacrifices for the protection of Islamic values ? The chairman senate said that this battle was a struggle for the exaltation of Islam, its sanctity and protection which speaks of the principled stance, unshakable determination, bravery and sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions. He said that the great sacrifices made by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions are torchbearer for us in every field of life. “Let us adapt our lives according to the teachings of Imam Hussain (RA) and achieve success in this world and the hereafter”, the chairman senate said.
