They were passengers of a 'Chader Gari', usually modified pickups or jeeps, which rammed into a tree at Alikadam around 10am Monday, said Lama Police OC Anwar Hossain. At least ten passengers were injured in the crash at Mirinja, a remote tourist location, he said. The injured were taken to Chakaria Health Complex at Cox's Bazar with the help of locals where the two unidentified passengers were declared dead. "Two of the passengers were already dead. The others are undergoing treatment," said Md Saber Ahmed, resident physician at the health complex.
