According to artistic director Jeff Kingsford-Brown, it's important because $15,000 could become $30,000Creative New Zealand announced a 10 per cent funding cut for the theatre in April, following a decrease in Lotto profits. The national arts agency had offered some compensation for the loss by making a one-off dollar-for-dollar gesture for any new sponsorship Centrepoint brought in this year, to the value of $15,000. The Streaker, Kingsford-Brown's final show as artistic director after five years at the helm, with city-raised actors Greg Johnson and Carrie Green, opens on November 17.
