At the signing, Somsajee Siksamat, the bank’s senior director at the Statistics and Data Management Department, said the collaboration would boost the utilisation of financial information for maximum benefit, as good information would help provide answers on increasingly important economic and financial issues, including indebtedness and the use of financial services. Surapol Opasatien, chief executive officer at the NCB, said the collaboration was aimed at supporting the central bank’s more efficient policy-setting by using the bureau’s information, in a way that would not affect the right of privacy.
