Her classmates have alleged the hospital located at Dhaka’s Green Road treated Afia for blood cancer when she was admitted there with dengue fever. Police said some students, in the presence of ruling Awami League’s student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League’s DU unit General Secretary Motahar Hossain Prince, vandalised the hospital. “According to the students, when Afia got admitted on Wednesday evening, doctors said she had leukaemia. Prince said the students were enraged to have lost ‘their sister’ because of the wrong treatment. “They lost temper and vandalised the hospital,” he told bdnews24.com.
