After being drafted by—and then cut from—the Boston Celtics several seasons ago, the team signed him to a two-way contract earlier this week. Before the advent of the two-way contract, players like Hunter could just get lost in the system, victims of the rule that teams could only carry 15 players. The NBA introduced the two-way contract to allow teams to sign up to two additional players, with a few restrictions. If it does work out, well, it would make a perfect advertisement for both two-way contracts and the G League in general.
