Motherwell revealed earlier this week they had accepted a bid from Celtic for Turnbull, believed to be in the region of £3million. That fee would make the 19-year-old the most expensive player in The Steelmen’s history, with it “vastly exceeding” the £2.39m Celtic paid for Phil O’Donnell in 1994. Turnbull was given permission to speak with Turnbull and his agent, from the Pro Legal Group agency, who take care of a number of Scottish footballers. But Celtic revealed those negotiations have not gone as planned in a bizarre tweet on Friday afternoon.
