As daft as it sounds, all-conquering, domestically invincible, record-equalling Celtic now need to show that they can emulate Kilmarnock. When they return to the Champions League tomorrow night Celtic must try to do to Bayern Munich what Kilmarnock did to Celtic. Can they overcome the enormous inferiority of their relative resources and snatch an admirable result? Well, Kilmarnock did. So far the only Achilles heel of Brendan Rodgers’s extraordinary spell in charge of Celtic has been an inability to contain the Champions League’s elite.
