Celebratory firing in marriages have been banned with immediate effect in urban and rural parts of Mathura district, district police chief said on Saturday. “Those take part in celebratory firing will be booked and their arms license cancelled. “Not only it has been banned but violation would invite stern action,” SSP Babloo Kumar said. Also, the license of marriage hall would also be cancelled in case of violation of the ban,” he said. Senior police officers would apprise the order to owners of marriage halls.
