HENNING, Tenn. (AP) " Pulitzer Prize-winning author Alex Haley would be turning 95 years old, and celebrations are planned around Tennessee this week. In West Tennessee, the Alex Haley Museum and Interpretive Center in Henning will offer free tours on Friday and Saturday. The author of "Roots," which was turned into an award-winning miniseries, will be remembered during an event Thursday evening at the Alex Haley Statue in Knoxville. Speakers expected include the city's mayor and Haley's grandson. Other events include a health fair and silent auction.
