A screenshot taken from a video on the marchCAIRO - 24 April 2020: A video footage went viral on social media showing dozens of people in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria were carrying a model of the Kaaba and touring the streets on Thursday evening.The people were celebrating the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar when Muslims worldwide fast from dusk to dawn, and doubting the existence of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.The Interior Ministry arrested on Friday the organizers of the march that started before the night-time curfew hours.#Alexandria has been created on Twitter where the users denounced this action, amid the precautionary measures taken by the government to deal with the COVID-19 crisis.Egypt’s Ministry of Health announced, Thursday, 232 new cases of the coronavirus, COVID-19 in an expected surge of the daily detected patients, while 11 people died from the virus.Health Ministry Spokesman Khaled Megahed said that all of the new cases are Egyptians.The new cases raise the total number of confirmed COVID-19 patients in Egypt to 3,891 and deaths to 287, Megahed added.The number of coronavirus cases whose tests turned from positive to negative increased to 1,334, including 1,004 people who recovered from the virus. All positive cases were quarantined at hospitals, the spokesman said.During a meeting, Thursday, Egypt’s Health Minister Hala Zayed said that the country made up to 90.000 PCR tests for COVID-10 all over the state. She urged Egyptians to follow a healthy lifestyle during the holy month to maintain the body's immunity against COVID-19.Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli announced Thursday that the night-time curfew hours were shortened to start from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am during the holy month of Ramadan.
