Part of the events celebrating Luxor becoming the Arab capital for arts - Photo Courtesy of the ministry’s official statementCAIRO – 14 March 2018: Closing ceremonies celebrating Luxor becoming the Arab capital for arts, will be held under the supervision of Culture Minister Inas Abdel Dayem and Luxor’s Governor Mohamed Badr on Thursday March 15.The events of the celebrations started a year ago, where folk dance troupes such as “Luxor for Folk Arts”, “Isamilia For Folk Arts”, and “Aswan For Folk Arts” among others have been performing in various touristic places such as “Abu El Hajaj” and “Square of Trade” among other touristic spaces.As for the program of the closing ceremony, an exhibition organized by the contemporary art sector led by Khaled Soroor will be launched. The exhibition includes artworks from 47 artists coming from 11 different countries such as Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Algeria, and Sudan.Then “Salem Nafsak” play will be performed; it is a play directed by Khaled Galal and staged by the students of the Actor’s Studio, and is an opportunity to discover new talents among Egyptian youth. The play has been presented 115 times in a row since its first show in October 2017. Additionally, many critics described it as the best 2017 theater show, as Egypt Today has previously reported.The two-hour-play focuses on the negative features in the Egyptian community during the recent period.
