Barbra Streisand celebrated a professional milestone this week, as Wednesday marked the 50th anniversary of the release of “Funny Girl,” the movie musical that won her an Oscar for Best Actress. On Saturday, performer Steven Brinberg will pay homage in his signature way, performing as Streisand at The Green Room 42 in New York. In it, he croons the classic “Funny Girl” ballad, “People,” which remains a Streisand concert staple. “Barbra is in a class all her own,” Brinberg told HuffPost. “She’s so unique and opened the doors for so many great ladies that came after her, from Bette Midler to Lady Gaga.
