THE head of the Cebu archdiocese urged all sectors to conduct an “honest-to-goodness” evaluation of the landslide that hit Naga last week to address the victims’ call for justice. The prelate said the recent calamity has taken Cebuanos by surprise, citing the growing number of missing and dead persons. “When one visits the evacuation centers and the sports center where the remains of our brothers and sisters are placed, one truly feels the pain and sorrow felt by our grief-stricken brothers and sisters,” Palma said. He also urged local parishes in Cebu, other organizations, individuals or groups to continue sending assistance to the landslide victims through the Archdiocesan Economic Office. He ended the letter with a prayer for protection to Señor Santo Niño, through the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe de Cebu and San Pedro Calungsod.
