There was a noticeable difference in the Blue Jays’ clubhouse last weekend after Cavan Biggio and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. joined the big-league team from Triple-A. The bond between Toronto’s young players, those who are here and those who are still to come, is evident and it is something the Jays consider a strength. “They all came up together and they all played together, so they all like each other,” manager Charlie Montoyo said recently. It’s kind of just the whole start of it.” Jays coach John Schneider managed the trio with Dunedin and again with Double-A New Hampshire last year during Biggio’s breakout season. Biggio carries himself with confidence but without ego, Schneider said, and shows genuine care for the players and staff around him.
