Photo: MintNew Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday reserved its order on whether the appeals against the 2007 Cauvery Tribunal award are to be allowed. In 2007, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala filed appeals against the verdict of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal. “The Constitution has totally ousted the jurisdiction of the apex court for inter-state river water disputes,” the government’s top law officer, Mukul Rohatgi, told the court. Meanwhile, the interim order of the court on water release directing Karnataka to release 2,000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu per day will continue till further orders.
