Briefcase 1 Supreme Court directed Karnataka to release more water from Cauveri for Tamil Nadu. The apex court directed the Karnataka government to release 15,000 cusecs of water from Cauveri river to Tamil Nadu for the next ten days. Tamil Nadu had approached the SC seeking release of 50 TMC of water from Karnataka from the Cauvery river.
