Cause of house fire still unknownSTUFF Remains of a house fire at Dalrymple street InvercargillA house gutted by fire in Invercargill last week has been deemed too unsafe for a fire investigator to enter. Fire investigator Mark Bredenbeck, speaking on Sunday, said the cause of the blaze was still unknown. He had investigated the outside of the house but the burnt structure was too unsafe to enter and investigate inside, he said. It was believed the injured man was passing by and had stopped to make sure there was no-one in the house. The property was gutted by fire but smoke alarms had stopped significant damage to the surrounding properties after the alarms alerting neighbours.
