The court found Panuwat Singsahas, 26, guilty of killing cats on July 10, 18, 20, 24, 26, 29, 30 and 31 this year.He offered to take care of the cats when those found the stray cats posted on Facebook walls that the cats needed home. He took the cats home and later failed to update their status.Panuwat was arraigned on August 15 shortly after Watchdog Thailand alerted the authorities that he might have killed the adopted cats that disappeared.The court initially sentenced Panuwat to 36 months in jail but commuted the sentence by half after he confessed to the crime.The court found him guilty of violating the animal protection act and Criminal Code.The court refused to suspend the jail term on ground that he used to serve a jail term once.Panuwat was released on bail pending his appeal against the ruling.
