Catapult ban in place as police appeal vandalism incidents

There were two separate incidents. The first took place at around 6pm on September 11 in Castle Woods and the second at around 5pm on October 19 in the Vale Road area, both in Red Lynch. There is a Public Space Protection Order in place covering Downton and Redlynch which prohibits people from having catapults on them at any time. Wiltshire Police do not know how the ball bearings were launched but suspect that it was either a catapult or an air-related weapon. In the statement made by Wiltshire Police it said: “Any members of the public who witnessed either of these incidents or saw anybody carrying an item capable of firing projectiles, or anyone with dash cam footage, is asked to contact us on 101 quoting reference 54230111647.”
