Dunedin firefighters were twice called to a backyard couch fire in Castle St early this morning. On the first occasion, about 12.55am, firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, and one person apparently received a burn, believed to be minor. A St John ambulance spokeswoman said police had asked ambulance staff to stand down, and no treatment had been required. A police spokeswoman said that on the second occasion, about 3.20am, a fire on the couch had to be put out after apparently being re-lit. Police arrested a 19-year-old man, who will appear in the Dunedin District Court on Thursday on a disorderly behaviour charge, she said.
