Cases of inmates dying inside NBP continue, rights group urges BuCor to improve jail’s condition 0 SHARES Share it! Share TweetBy Joseph Almer PedrajasCases of inmates dying inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) continue as the national penitentiary was placed under “critical” state. This way, the group said, sickness and cases of “severe dehydration,” which worsen inmates’ condition at the congested penitentiary, would be averted. There are only four doctors attending to the medical needs of 18,000 inmates at NBP’s Maximum Security Compound. BuCor chief Director General Gerald Bantag said, the number of doctors is “insufficient” considering the population of the NBP.
