A petition challenging the nomination and appointment of Dr James Gesami as Nyamira Deputy governor has been dismissed with costs to the petitioner. An order stopping the nomination was issued on May 27 hours to the second vetting of Dr Gesami by the County Assembly’s appointment committee. At first, the order had sunk the hopes of the ex-West Mugirango legislator of becoming Deputy governor in the Amos Nyaribo led county government. However, the Thursday ruling gave Gesami a reprieve even as he works as special programs advisor in the county government. In the premises, the application is dismissed with costs to the respondents,” stated part of the ruling issued by Nyamira High Court judge Esther Maina.
