Carter blasted a 43-yard field goal on the final play to lift Buena to a dramatic 10-7 win over visiting Ventura in the schools’ annual crosstown rivalry clash. “This is what dreams are made of,” Buena senior Colin Guenther said after the Bulldogs lifted the Suzanne Brown Memorial Trophy. “He’s our best player in the open field,” Carter said of Guenther. While Ventura had four drives end in Bulldogs territory, Buena ran just four plays in Ventura territory before its final drive. But Ventura turned the ball over on downs on the Buena 1 and 25 and missed a 36-yard field goal.
