GEORGE TOWN: More than 50 senior citizens were evacuated from an old folks' home in Lebuh Carnarvon, here, last night after their neighbouring units caught fire. “All the tenants of the Old Folks Home have been brought to safety,” he said yesterday. “There was an old folks' home about 6m away,” he said. 70 per cent of the old folks’ home in Lebuh Carnavon was destroyed in the fire. Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow also visited the senior citizens who have been relocated to a temporary shelter.
