Caritas Philippines, the social action arm of the Catholic Church, is urging the faithful to help it raise P 5.8 milion for its relief efforts for the victims of severe Tropical Storm “Vinta” in Mindanao. Covered by the fund-raising project are the provinces of Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Compostela Valley and Davao del Norte. We will be able to stand strong against these challenges.”Meanwhile, the Archdiocese of Ozamiz will be holding a second collection in its Masses to help the victims of tropical storm “Urduja” in the Visayas and “Vinta” in Mindanao. Ozamiz archbishop Martin Jumoad said they will be conducting the second collection for the victims of the twin weather disturbances. We are very much willing we can have second collection for that,” he said over Radio Veritas.
