The cargo ship MV Hang Gang-1 wrecked 10 nautical miles south of Bhasan Char in the Bay of Bengal at Hatiya, said the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA). BIWTA Deputy Director Md Selim confirmed that the cargo ship sank after colliding with another sunken ship. A red buoy was floated to ward off approaching ships, but the MV Hang Gang-1 ignored the danger signal.
