A home carer has been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter in relation to the death of a Covid-19 patient. In what is believed to be the first case of its kind, police are understood to be investigating allegations related to infection, prevention and control. The arrest was brought to the attention of the United Kingdom Homecare Association by the insurance company handling the case. If one of them pulls out, you end up in a monopoly and it’s bad enough having a duopoly situation. If you are a small care provider how are you going to find that kind of money?”
