Drivers are being warned to watch out for ice in parts of the South due to rain and chilly temperatures. The Queenstown Lakes District Council said rain was falling througout the district today, causing roads to be wet and slippery in places. Motorists should slow down, drive to the conditions and watch for icy patches on bridges and shady areas. Roads in Central Otago were open and mainly dry but there was a possibility of ice forming. The New Zealand Transport Agency advised the Milford Road (State Highway 94 Knobs Flat Depot to Murrells Creek Bridge) continued to be icy and care should be taken.
