A 77-year-old care home resident from Windsor made a splash when she returned to the pool for the first time in a year – an activity she used to greatly enjoy – fulfilling a long-running wish. Marjorie Wilcox, a resident at Care UK’s Mountbatten Grange (on Helston Lane) was granted a ‘wish’ from a charity dedicated to getting care home residents chances to enjoy new hobbies. Marjorie was swimming every day until a year ago. She moved to Mountbatten Grange at the beginning of August and was ‘elated’ when the care team ‘went to great lengths’ to organise for her to visit Braywick Leisure Centre. On the day, Marjorie and team members visited Braywick Leisure Centre where they enjoyed swimming lengths of the pool, with Marjorie completing ten laps.
