McDonald's has proposed opening what would be its first restaurant in a Vatican building within sight of St Peter's Square. The Committee for the Protection of Borgo was the first group to raise the alarm over the proposed restaurant, according to The Guardian. The proposed McDonald's would not technically be within Vatican City walls. Two books, released by Italian journalists last year, described how many cardinals live in luxury in apartments owned by the Vatican.
