They beat the Dodgers 2-1 at Ellis Park on Saturday, winning the memorial trophy for Dodgers and Otago softball stalwart Aran Bailey, who died a year ago. Cardinals lead batter Doug Hill gave his side the lead in the first inning. The Cardinals were similarly dominant in the field, before Jacob Wedlock pegged one back for the Dodgers in the fifth inning. It was an impressive result for the Cardinals, who bounced back from a hefty loss to the A Team in the crossover grade to end the Dodgers unbeaten season.
