Carbon monoxide clears out Ottawa's Amazon warehouse

Everyone inside the Amazon warehouse in Ottawa's rural east end got out of the building safely during a Monday morning carbon monoxide "incident," Ottawa firefighters say. Ottawa Fire Services tweeted at 7:40 a.m. about the evacuation of 5225 Boundary Rd. It said specialists were looking into what happened. Hundreds of people were expected to work at the warehouse as it was being built in 2018 and 2019, but physical distancing measures are in place at Amazon workplaces because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
