Car2Go upgrades its D.C. fleet as usage rises

Car2Go’s newest Smart fortwo model will comprise more than a quarter of its D.C. fleet by year’s end. The upgrades allow Car2Go to retire some of its oldest and most heavily used cars, the company says. “We’re excited car2go members in the D.C. area will be the first in the U.S. to experience the new car2go,” Aaron Landry, general manager of car2go D.C, said in a statement. Car2Go trips in the region are up 22 percent since SafeTrack launched in June, and weekly memberships have jumped 63 percent, the company says.
