The victims, belonging to the same family, were travelling in a rickshaw and met with an accident when a white Vigo car, bearing the registration number KZ-4440, broke a signal and trampled the rickshaw. As a result, a minor boy and his mother died on the spot, while six others sustained injuries. Eyewitnesses revealed that driver of the car stayed at the scene for a while and then fled. However, a police mobile, from a nearby picket, chased and detained the driver after encircling his car near Khayaban-e-Shaheen. The police took the car into custody and shifted it to the Gizri police station.
