Montreal-based car-sharing service Communauto says it will soon launch service in Calgary, filling a void left by the departure of Car2Go last fall. In a statement, the company said details would be announced on Thursday regarding zone and parking rules. Negotiations between the company and the city began earlier this year, with Communauto negotiating around parking and time limits in inner-city neighbourhoods. At the time, MacNaughton said the city would need to explore parking flexibility as it sought to draw a new car-sharing company to the city. Calgary has been without a car-sharing service since Car2Go pulled out of the city last October, prior to pulling out of North America altogether.
