Car seat stickers to help ID kids in crashes

Children in a crash may be "scared and confused and not able to communicate their details", St John spokeswoman Suzy Mitchell said (file photo). Car seat stickers will help emergency services identify children in car crashes if there's no conscious adult to help. Over the past year, St John has been to 95 serious car crashes involving kids aged eight or under, St John spokeswoman Suzy Mitchell said. Sometimes the adult is unresponsive and children in car seats are "scared and confused and not able to communicate their details". St John is now promoting a sticker which can go on the side of a car or booster seat, with the child's name, date of birth and National Health Index (NHI) number -if known, and emergency contacts.
