Vehicle sales increased 14.1 percent in June to a record 37,631 units from 32,993 units a year ago, two industry groups said Thursday. Data showed both passenger car and commercial vehicles segments posted incremental sales in June and in the first half of the year. The passenger cars segment saw a 14.4-percent increase in sales to 13,677 units in June from 11,951 units sold in the same month last year. Passenger car sales reached 67,180 units in the first half. Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. maintained its market lead with 42.73 percent of total sales, followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. with 19.11 percent and Isuzu Philippines Corp. with 11.03 percent.
