Emergency services were called to a crash this morning after a car went out of control and rolled on State Highway 1 in Southland. The incident happened just north of Pukerau about 7am. Volunteer firefighters attended in fire appliances from Pukerau, Gore and Clinton, and helped with traffic control, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said. One occupant of the car was checked by a St John ambulance officer, but was believed to be not seriously hurt.
