Steel prices have jumped 36% in the last six months while natural rubber, which saw a steady slide for more than three years, has rebounded by 25%. "There has been an increase in pricing of raw material commodities like steel, aluminum, copper and rubber over last six months. CHENNAI: The auto industry could see a set of price hikes in the run up to the festival season due to the rising price curve of commodities . "Costs are definitely going up due to the higher minimum import price for steel imports. "With major raw material prices going north, there is a challenge to maintain current price points," said Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice-president (sales and marketing), Hyundai Motor India .
