A search and rescue operation started on Tuesday morning to find Lowe who has been missing since Thursday. Previously police said they had "grave concerns" for his welfare and appealed to the public to report sightings of the missing man and his car. Anyone who saw Lowe was urged to contact Dunedin police on (03) 471 4800 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
