(File photo)Firefighters were called on in the middle of the night to extinguish a car fire after a crash near Motueka. Emergency services were alerted to the car fire about 1am on Saturday, which happened at the intersection of Chamberlain St and Hursthouse St in Lower Moutere. A police spokeswoman said a member of the public had been alerted by the noise, and had found the car “well on fire”. A Fire and Emergency spokesman said a crew from Motueka was dispatched to the scene and extinguished the fire.
