Several major car companies reported softer U.S. sales for 2019, as the auto market shows signs of easing after posting a multiyear streak of near-record results. General Motors Co.’s sales fell 2.3% for the year, dented largely by a 40-day strike last fall that brought more than 30 U.S. factories to a standstill, the company said Friday.
