Captain Geraldine George Enters History Books As First Woman Deputy Chief of Staff


Monrovia – Captain Geraldine Janet George has become the first woman to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia. Captain George was among a list of new appointees announced by President George Manneh Weah Monday. Captain George, a product of the US Army Command and General Staff College previously served as Senior Legal Officer in the army before being promoted to the ranks of Captain from first Lieutenant. In Sinoe, Otis Seeton is appointed Mayor of Greenville City while Barbara Keah has been named Assistant Superintendent for Development and Gift Morris, Assistant Superintendent for Fiscal Affairs. The President also appointed Prosper Brown as Deputy Minister for Technical Services at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications while Edwin Kumon becomes Deputy Minister for Postal Operations.
