Linda's Daycare Centre was handed a letter of closure. The Western Cape education department issued a notice of enforcement to close down Linda's Daycare Centre in Bonteheuwel, Cape Town, following an investigation into the death of eight-month-old Mohammed Qiran Canterbury. Little Mohammed was rushed to the Vanguard Community Health Centre last month after allegedly being found unresponsive at the daycare. A spokesperson for the department, Kerry Mauchline, said the creche was issued with a closure notice last Wednesday. "It's unfortunate that the creche staff and the parents whose children rely on dropping their kids off at the creche will now suffer.
