It’s the Day 4 edition of the World Juniors tracker, where we tally up the efforts of the Vancouver Canucks’ prospects playing in the tournament:Vasili PodkolzinA day after their historic 6-0 win over Team Canada, Podkolzin and Team Russia found themselves snake-bit in a 3-1 setback against Team USA on Day 4 of the World Junior Championship. The Canucks’ 2019 first-rounder set up a number of teammates in high-scoring areas, only to have them miss on their opportunities. On a first period power play, Podkolzin, 18, set up shop behind the net and found a teammate for a shot on goal. Asked between periods if Russia was tired after their game against Canada, Podkolzin responded “everything is fine” then left the reporter hanging. Vasili Podkolzin: Team Russia has enough players that are no worse than Lafreniere is.
