The Vancouver Canucks recalled the popular winger from the AHL’s Utica Comets on Tuesday, at the same time sending Sven Baertschi back to their minor league affiliate. The Russian winger cleared waivers before the season started and was assigned to Utica. In Utica, Goldobin has eight goals and 12 assists in 18 AHL games. Baertschi also had an explosive start to the AHL season after being re-assigned, to some surprise, before the season. The Canucks dominated possession while he was on the ice, but like many of his teammates, he had little puck luck.
