The postponement follows weeks of speculation over whether the festival would be able to go ahead between May 12-23The Cannes Film Festival, the world’s largest, was forced to postpone its latest edition in May due to the spread of the coronavirus, organisers of the annual event on the French Riviera said on Thursday. It is not the first time the festival has been postponed. The announcement is another blow to the film industry. The Cannes festival is the latest event in the entertainment industry to be postponed or canceled. New York’s Tribeca Film Festival was put back earlier this month as was the release of big budget movies including Mulan and the latest James Bond movie No Time to Die.
