Candiac line train service cancelled as protesters block tracks


Train service on the AMT's Candiac line has been cancelled this morning due to a protest on the tracks. A group of Mohawks are camped out beside the tracks near the Saint-Laurent train bridge and say they will stay there until this evening. (Charles Contant/CBC)People who usually take the train from the Delson, Candiac, Saint-Constant and Sainte-Catherine stations will instead be bussed from their train stations to the Mansfield bus terminal downtown, where they can then connect with the STM network to reach their destinations. Evening rush hour possibly affectedThere will also be no service heading toward the South Shore on that line. The protesters say they aren't letting trains through until 6 p.m.A screen at the Candiac station informs commuters of the service cancellation.
